About Alethea

Alethea is the CEO of Fresh Start Musik and the primary teacher, at the moment. Alethea is a singer-songwriter who's written over 300 songs. She teaches piano, guitar, vocals, drums, cello, violin, and ukulele. She is extremely funny, passionate, knowledgeable, and connects deeply with every student.

Her background includes minoring in music at Whitman College, professional private instruction in each instrument, studying production with Triple Threat Artist, and writing/touring with some of the best musicians from all over the world. She has performed in Germany, New York City, China, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Portland.

In her free time, she loves snuggling up with a good book with her kitten, Te. She's just started dipping her toes in the Portland acting scene and loves it.

Her hopes with Fresh Start Musik is to be able to expand and connect other talented musicians with their own students. She believes in the power of music to heal, motivate, and inspire. Fresh Start Musik was created to give students a fresh approach to learning, where they can break free, be themselves, and have fun!

Teaching Mission

I have a student-centered mission with teaching. I believe in giving students the skills to read and listen critically to music so that they can play any song or style they desire. It's important to not mold students, but to give them skills to grow and play or write any song they desire.
